Linda Sambell at Overt Locke has decided it’s time to tackle the weedy plot in the corner.
Chapter One – A good Idea
Do you have one of these? A corner of the garden that shouts, ‘Please do something to make me look beautiful’.
I have to confess this weedy plot lives in the corner of my back garden and has looked like this for the past two years. Cunningly, I have developed a strategy that ignores the eyesore it has become – keep the rest of the garden tidy with the promise that one day I will get ‘around-to-it’. (Despite appearances, I promise you there is nothing sinister lurking beneath this mound of soil other than weeds!)
Procrastination only works for so long: ‘around-to-it’ is demanding action!

So… with curiosity aplenty, over the coming months, my challenge is to transform this ugly duckling into a plot that not only looks good, but is productive.
Along the way I am eager to learn how propagate (without a greenhouse), select and nurture fruit, herbs and vegetables to grace the plate and satisfy the palette. But first there is grafting to be done and with warmer – and drier – days around the corner, it is time to begin the transformation.
Plot on…
