‘The West Country is so rich in food culture. There are foodie experiences around every corner, some obvious and some still relatively unexplored. We’re lucky enough to have some of the world’s highest quality produce on our doorstep, so what an opportunity we have to make the most of all the flavours our local producers have to offer. As a FOODLOVER I’m passionate about the West Country and getting involved in the local food community. Stay with us as we uncover lashings of exciting foodie experiences and opportunities to support local!’

Katy Hofstede-Smith
Passionate foodie Katy never seems to leave the kitchen unless it’s for a long walk which is usually via the local butchers or farm shop.

Armed with every ingredient known to man she loves to create and try new dishes as well as perfect the traditional. Above all Katy is our goddess of entertaining at home, she has a love for finishing touches and a flair for creation, even a simple walk in the woods turns to foraging for table centre materials!

Peter GortonMasterchef Peter Gorton
Peter Gorton is a celebrity and consultant chef and one of the best known chefs in the south west of England. He began his career in 1980 at the age of 16 and trained at some of the best restaurants in Great Britain and around the world, from The Walnut Tree in Abergavenny to Burnham Beaches Hotel in Melbourne, Australia and Jamin in Paris. He became proprietor of the Carved Angel restaurants and cafes in Exeter, Taunton and Dartmouth and The Horn of Plenty Country House Hotel & Restaurant near Tavistock in Devon.

“With over 20 years’ experience in graphic design I specialises in logo and editorial design. I have worked for numerous national magazine titles in many different sectors. However growing up on a farm and living in the West Country all my life makes FOODLOVER such a special project for me and am proud to be part of the team.

I also love to get creative in the kitchen decorating novelty cakes for friends and family. When not in the office or the kitchen you will most likely find me hurling myself around playing Ultimate Frisbee!”
