Sunday 6 May
Claw crackers at the ready! Salcombe Crab Festival, also known as Crabfest, returns on Sunday 6 May and is the ideal escape for fun-loving foodies looking to get away for the early May bank holiday weekend.
Inspired by the famously flavoursome Salcombe Brown Crab, Crabfest is an annual celebration of the local fishing, food and tourism industries. Visitors to the family-friendly festival can look forward to a full day of events, including cookery demos with celebrity chefs, crab picking masterclasses, crab pot making, live music and an impressive assortment of top-quality stalls and exhibits. Events take place along Island Street and at various other locations across the scenic seaside town of Salcombe, South Devon.
Entry is free and funds raised by the festival are donated to local charities and good causes. This year’s principal charity is Hope Cove Life Boat.
