The 2012 Taste of the West awards have just been announced and as businesses across the region celebrate recognition for their hard work, here’s a look at some of the producers who have received awards.

BRISTOL
The Upton Cheyney Chilli Company were awarded a Gold for their Oak Smoked Chipotle Sauce and Bronze for their Mango, Lime and Red Hot Habenero Sauce. Heavenly Hedgerows in Keynsham received a Gold for their Hawthorn Jelly and a Silver award for their Elderberry and Bramble Jam.
House of the Rising Bun received four Silver awards for their cake mixes, including the Vanilla Bean Cake Mix and Double Chocolate Cake Mix.
CORNWALL
The Cornish Duck Co received Gold awards for their Whole Duck, Smoked Duck Breast and Duck Burgers. Sarah’s Chilli Relish in Penzance received two Gold awards for the Mild Chilli Relish and Cider Apple Relish.
St Austell Brewery gained two Gold awards for Proper Job and Admiral’s Ale, while Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm also received two Gold awards for their Classic Oak Matured Cyder and Classic Reserve Cyder.
DEVON
Chunk of Devon received three Silver awards for their Homity Pie, Squealer Pork Pie and Squealer Chicken & Ham Pork Pie. Mrs Gill’s Country Cakes received two Gold awards, one for Rich Fruit Cake and one for Chocolate & Almond Cake.
Exmouth Mussel Company won a Gold award for their Mussels, Kenniford Farm picked up a Gold for their Scotch Eggs while Hillside Speciality Foods won Gold awards for their Celery Pickle and their Crab Apple Fruit Cheese.
DORSET
Dorset Shellfish picked up two Gold awards for their Handmade Dorset Crab Pate and Handpicked Portland Dressed Crab while Capreolus Fine Foods collected four Gold awards across the Cured Meat and Bacon categories.
Filbert’s Fine Foods collected an award for their Californian Lightly Salted Almonds while Clipper Teas achieved ten Silver awards including their Organic Wild Berry Infusion Tea Bags and Organic Wild Berry Infusion Tea Bags.
SOMERSET
Sausage Shed picked up two Gold awards for their Pork Sausage with Jalapeno Pepper and Pork Sausage with Glastonbury Ale, while Quantock Brewery picked up three Gold awards which included their Quantock Stout.
Pilton Cider were given two Gold awards for their Pilton Cider and Pilton Vintage Cider, Stream Farm collected Gold for their Organic Hampshire Down Leg of Lamb and Jon Thorner’s for their Minted Lamb & Vegetable Pie.
