Tom Kerridge and Rick Stein to headline pop-up culinary cinema in Bath.
The Gourmet Picture Company – creators of unique culinary cinema experiences – will descend on Bath this festive season with an eclectic programme of classic and Christmas movies, combined with specially created menus from two of the country’s best-loved chefs; Tom Kerridge and Rick Stein.
The three-week long Gourmet Picture Company pop-up will be located within Bath’s Royal Victoria Park. Here, a magnificent movie theatre marquee will take up residence from December until early January, showing both evening screenings and afternoon matinees, whilst taking a ‘night at the flicks’ to new gastronomic heights.
The Gourmet Picture Company’s Classic Christmas in Bath follows the sell-out success of summer events held at Cliveden House in Buckinghamshire and Chewton Glen hotel in Hampshire and throughout Christmas 2016 within the Old Town Hall building in Marlow, Bucks.
From December 14th to Christmas Eve, audiences will enjoy their chosen movie alongside a seasonal menu created by chef Rick Stein. With a restaurant portfolio spanning from Padstow to Australia, Rick is most famously known for his mastery of seafood.
From December 27th to January 7th, Gloucestershire-born Tom Kerridge, chef owner of Marlow restaurants including two Michelin starred The Hand and Flowers and The Coach, which has one Michelin star, will be designing the dishes, treating cinema-goers to a taste of his hearty, pub-inspired classics.
Decked-out to create the ultimate in Christmas cosiness, the cinema will be complete with the Gourmet Picture Company’s iconic red sofas. The line-up of films, curated from a list of movie favourites provided by the people of Bath, will include both festive flicks, films for children and other classics and is still to be revealed.
Audience members will be served drinks and each dish to individual tables in front of every sumptuous two-seater sofa, followed by home-made ice-cream created from the team at the Hand and Flowers.
Tom Kerridge, one of the four friends who initially came up with the Gourmet Picture Company concept, said:
“I’m delighted the Gourmet Picture Company is coming to Bath, a part of the world I know extremely well and has a real place in my heart. Royal Victoria Park is the perfect setting for a pop-up cinema like this one, and I’m excited to know that people will be tucking into some of my dishes, enjoying a drink or two whilst watching fantastic films in a beautiful setting. I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening in the lead up to Christmas. I know that Rick has some pretty special recipes up his sleeve as well. Everyone’s in for a right treat.”
