Hands-on butchery courses for dad

Why not give the gift of a new skill this Father’s Day? At Etherington’s Butchery Academy in Cornwall, Dad can learn how to make the most of noses, tails and every cut in between! Armed with his very own butchers kit (which he’ll get to take home) your Dad will learn about the various cuts, quality control and knife handling techniques – leaving him with a great knowledge of the dexterous skills needed to tackle meat in the kitchen at home.

butchery knivesThe courses will offer dad the opportunity to get stuck into butchering meat, learning about different and delicious cuts, quality control and the skills of knife handling. Tutors guide students from nose to tail and start to finish as they tackle pork, beef, lamb, sausage making or knife skills.

There are five courses to choose from and dad can choose from a half day or full day. From making sausages to cutting the finest fillet of beef, courses are designed to offer a good knowledge of the carcass and the dexterous skills to tackle it in the kitchen. He certainly won’t be disappointed with this memorable gift.

The hands-on courses are held in Etherington’s Butchery Classroom, adjacent to Etherington’s Farm Shop in Wheal Rose, Scorrier, Cornwall and options include lamb, beef, pork and sausage making – find out more and book at
